Ffion Rogers
Ffion Rogers had a 5cm cyst on her ovary removed in February 2023 and was told it was a dumaroid cyst and “nothing to worry about” as she had no family history and was too young for ovarian cancer.
Four months later she was diagnosed with stage 1C1 ovarian cancer. She discovered her consultant had received the histology results at the end of March but these weren’t communicated to her until the beginning of June.
A month later, Ffion had a full hysterectomy and six rounds of chemotherapy.
Ffion said, “I raised a concerns regarding the delay to receiving my histology results and was told the reason for the wait was because of bank holidays and my consultant being on annual leave. They had very little concern about their duty of care towards me.”
